Latest Updates from Our Project:

I've got a Solution for you!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jul 25, 2019 at 08:45:45 AM

We're just a few days away from the launch of our biggest Kickstarter yet: The DM Solution! An all-in-one system usable by any game master, the DM Solution is great accessory which includes a DM screen, whiteboard, dice tower, dice tray, and accessory holder.

The DM's Solution is a hinged, hardwood box that is perfectly sized to hold a mouse pad, dice tower, accessory case and whiteboard. The top opens up to a 100 degree angle allowing it to act as a DM screen.  On the inside of the lid is a whiteboard which will allow you to keep notes on your adventure.   Included with the DM's solution is also a dice tower in a matching wood. The dice tower is uniquely designed so that the arms of the randomization chamber are part of the structure of the tower itself. On the bottom of the tower is a pair of rare-earth magnets to help stabilize the tower so that it stays upright when needed, and can be quickly and easily removed when not.

Launch is set for Tuesday, July 30. Lets get our pledges in early so we can get the project on some leader boards!

Dragon-Slayer Wands for RPG and Cosplay
over 5 years ago – Fri, Oct 05, 2018 at 08:50:44 AM

Hrothgar's Hoard has just launched its latest Kickstarter, Dragon-Slayer Wands

These wands give you a choice between wood and acrylics and even have a secret compartment inside that can hold 10mm dice or other trinkets.

We were fully funded within 24 hours and are looking for input from our backers to improve upon that success. Come take a look at this project now and let us know what you think.

Dragon-Slayer Wands, coming soon

We are less than two weeks out from the launch of Hrothgar's Hoard's latest Kickstarter project: Dragon-Slayer Wands. The word is already starting to get out and we have a review in and an unboxing of a wand on youtube. You can take a look at them by following the links below.

The project page is now open for comments. If you want to take a look and give me some input, please visit it at:  Dragon-Slayer Wands

It is still under construction, and probably will remain so up until launch, but the basics are there along with some pictures

Misfits now available

I'm trying to clear some shelf space for the upcoming project and this means it is your chance to pick up more misfits. These are items that, for one reason or another, I do not feel comfortable in selling at full price. A couple items are discontinued and otherwise fine (I'm just not making them any more) and a couple have flaws, but are still 100% usable. Here is what is currently available:

  • Misfit MONK style dice cases. Only 5 left. Lighter wood only (maple, curly maple, oak) $15 including domestic shipping.
  • Discontinued Dice Chest Dice case. Only 4 left. Looks like all 4 are bloodwood. $15 including domestic shipping.
  • Misfit Spell Book/Journals. 12 of these to go. Two sections that you can put spell cards in, one section you can take notes in. Mostly purple in color, but a few tan colors in this lot as well. Many of these have a girl's name engraved on the inside cover (offcenter). These were supposed to be gifts to my softball team, but I screwed up the engraving, so am selling them at a 50% discount. $20 including domestic shipping:
  • Misfit BARD style cases. 12 to go. Slightly larger than current version of the case. No foam inserts. Domestic woods only (mostly maple). $22 including shipping.

If you want to see pictures of these items, you can see them on my etsy page here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HrothgarsHoardGames

If you would like to order one, you can either submit your order through etsy, or you can send me an email at [email protected] and let me know what you want and I'll send you a paypal invoice. I'd prefer if you sent an email....save me the transaction fees :)

thanks a lot and I hope to see many of you in my next campaign!

Almost there...
almost 6 years ago – Sat, May 19, 2018 at 10:06:46 AM

I've shipped out a few orders yesterday and am down to the final 4 of backers who have completed their surveys. Two of those orders are completely done, I'm about to finish up the third and am waiting for an email confirmation on the fourth. I hope to be done by Monday.

HOWEVER.....

There are still four backers who have not completed their surveys. If your name is Brad, Ian, Chip or Caitlin and have not received your reward as of yet, please check your spam folder to see if your link to fill out the survey has gotten misdirected. I want everyone to get their reward and with the summer convention season upon me, I'm going to have very little time to get special orders done in the near future. Please fill out your survey as soon as possible.

In other news

I got a special order recently for a rather large box that I am in the process of making and thought I'd post pictures of the prototype for some feedback. This is a standard 10x14x3.5" (interior about 9x13x3) box with D&D on the top. It is made out of "swamp" poplar (just the prototype, not the finished product), which in my opinion is a rather ugly wood, but it is inexpensive and I have a ton of it, so it is what I do my prototypes in.

So, my questions here are first, what the initial reaction is. Is it something that you would find value in? Second, given that right now it is just a box, what type of interior dividers would be useful to you (if any)? Would you be interested in this type of box, for example, to put the pieces of your favorite board game in? If it had custom dividers, would you store your Dead of Winter or Pandemic games in? I've seen some businesses do quite well selling lasercut boxes for tabletop games. I'm less interested in making lasercut boxes for various reasons, but if there is a market, I might be interested in making hardwood cases for games.

Let me know what you think. I may make a couple of something like this for Origins and GenCon, but don't want to invest the time/money if there is no market for it.

Thanks for your feedback,

John

MISFIT AVAILABILITY
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 04, 2018 at 01:36:17 PM

MISFITS NOW AVAILABLE

I posted several things on my etsy page that are available as MISFITS. These are items that aren't quite good enough to sell at full price and too good to throw away. Prices have been discounted (usually free image engraving, although there are a couple extras in there).

To see the full list, go here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HrothgarsHoardGames/

All items listed as MISFIT have free domestic shipping. If you want to add other things on that are not misfits, feel free to order them; shipping will only be charged on non-misfit products.

I'm going to add some more misfit items from other product lines, so if you don't see anything you want right now, come back in a day or two and see what might be available.

Here are some pictures:

There are more than these, but I wanted to put a sampling out there.
